Martin
Campbell was influenced by his Grandfather who was a
pianist. He started to experiment with keyboards at
the age of 14. This started him on the road to being
a self taught keyboard player and he continued until
he was 16 when he stopped to concentrate on his apprenticeship.
He regained his interest in playing in his mid twenties.
Martin started to play in bands where he met Graeme
Carswell a good friend and fellow musician. It was through
Graeme that Martin was introduced to 'The Works'
Martin's musical taste is wide-ranging. He enjoys listening
to funk, rock, classical and jazz, though Van Halen
and Harry Connick Jr have been his main inspiration.
As well as music, Martin is passionate about Shotokan
Karate, he is a keen practicioner of the traditional
form of the art and holds a black belt. Any spare
time is spent going to the gym.
